Flatbed Semi Trailer

Product Description

The 4 axle 60 ton heavy duty flatbed semi trailer is intended for operations where cargo weight or concentration is higher than a standard three-axle general-cargo application. The additional axle can improve load distribution, subject to local gross-weight and axle-load rules.

The design can incorporate deeper main beams, closer cross-member spacing and local reinforcement beneath common loading positions. This is especially important when the trailer carries steel coils, heavy plates, compact machinery or precast components whose weight is concentrated over a small area.

Because road regulations vary widely, the “60 ton” description should be treated as a target operating class rather than a universal legal payload. AOHA confirms dimensions, axle spacing, kingpin location and component capacity based on the customer’s route and tractor specification.

Typical Applications

━━━━

  • Heavy steel plates, beams and structural components
  • Construction machinery and industrial equipment
  • Precast concrete products
  • Dense mining and infrastructure materials
  • Heavy containers where legally permitted

Key Advantages

━━━━

Four-Axle Load Distribution

The four-axle arrangement can distribute weight across more tire contact points and reduce load concentration.

Heavy-Duty Chassis Design

Main beams, cross-members and suspension mounting zones can be strengthened for repeated heavy transport.

Concentrated-Load Reinforcement

Steel plates or additional cross-members can be added under known cargo support locations.

Configurable Deck

The platform can use anti-slip steel, reinforced steel plate or a steel-and-wood combination.

Secure Heavy Cargo

Heavy lashing rings, chain anchors, winches and removable posts can be integrated into the deck.

Route-Specific Engineering

Axle spacing, turning performance and ground clearance can be adjusted around road and jobsite conditions.

Optional Configurations

━━━━

  • Steering axle for improved maneuverability
  • Hydraulic or mechanical outriggers for special cargo
  • Removable front headboard
  • Stake pockets and heavy side posts
  • Coil well or concentrated-load cradle
  • Air suspension and axle lift
  • Alternative tire and rim packages
  • Custom deck length and rear overhang

Quality Control and Delivery

━━━━

Heavy-duty units require careful inspection of the main-beam geometry, reinforcement welding, kingpin assembly, axle alignment, suspension installation and brake balance. A loading plan should be agreed before production so that reinforcement is placed where the cargo actually contacts the deck.
